Hired to make cover art for a local band’s new single– with the direction to base it on Botticelli’s The Three Graces– I chose to pull inspiration from the band’s namesake (Mount Shasta in California, which is regarded as as a sacred site.) In my designs, individual characters from the painting are functioning as mountains themselves. Since the song describes an eerie encounter at a remote cabin, I depict one about to occur on this mountaintop. I specifically opted to use plastic children’s toys for the wolf and the elk to give it a subtle uncanny quality.

I made the several variations you see below so as to create a suite of cover art they could use continuously.
